Iron Maiden-Branded Beer Gets Seal of Approval From Band in Visit With O-I Team

What would you do if the heavy metal band Iron Maiden visited your brewery? That’s what happened in August when the band visited Brazilian brewery Bodebrown with members of the O-I Glass team to taste a new Iron Maiden-branded brew.

Bodebrown initially partnered with Iron Maiden to created a new Iron Maiden-branded craft beer called Trooper Brasil IPA in 2019.

The first beer debuted with fantastic reviews and was so popular that the collaborators are rolling out a second Iron Maiden-branded beer called Aces High.

In August, Iron Maiden was in Brazil for the “Rock in Rio” music festival. The band also visited the Bodebrown factory in Curitiba, where members were able to taste Aces High with O-I Americas South President Hugo Ladeira and the Key Account Manager Marcelo de Muro.

“Everyone knows I’m a fan of Iron Maiden, and it was fantastic to participate in this project,” Ladeira said. “We’re still hearing that the bottle developed by O-I Brazil is the most beautiful of all in the world! Thank you to all the O-I and Bodebrown teams for this amazing product.”

O-I Glass created a unique 600 ml beer bottle for the brew. The bottle’s design features a raised Iron Maiden skull and the Bodebrown logo. To position it among global premium beer brands, the designers chose an emerald green color instead of the amber customarily used by the craft beer market.

Bodebrown, founded in 2009 by Samuel Cavalcanti and Andrea Cordeiro Pinto, boasts more than 20 labels and a reputation as one of the most awarded breweries in South America.

“We are the only Brazilian brewery licensed to produce an Iron Maiden beer. That’s why we decided to invest in a new package celebrating the band. This launch ties into the timing that Iron Maiden came to Brazil in one of the biggest rock events on the world,” said heavy metal fan and founder Samuel Cavalcante.

According to Cuarteldelmetal.com, Iron Maiden’s show at Pedreira Paulo Leminski in Curitiba exclusively served craft beers, an unprecedented event in the band’s history. Among the flavors featured was one created especially for the event by Bodebrown – Curitiba Event Beer.
